Wisconsin or Mexico??

Well, I had a choice this summer. I could rent a house in Wisconsin and make the breakfast omelets for my family or go on an all-inclusive vacation to a resort in Mexico where someone makes the omelets for me! It should not surprise anyone that I choose to go to Mexico where the omelets were made for me 🙂

I took my family to the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo Resort in the Riviera Maya.
This is one of my favorite Iberostar Resorts. It is about 30 minutes south of the Cancun airport and about 20 minutes north of the town of Playa Del Carmen. This resort is located in a complex with a total of 5 Iberostar Resorts. The beach is incredible, the water is the color of a bottle of Windex and we all just loved it.

The Lindo is one of the best resorts for families. They have a really fun lazy river and a wave pool that even my 18 yr old found to be enjoyable.

My husband and son took a snorkel tour right from the beach, $40 and well worth the price.

Two of my children swam with the dolphins, snorkeled with stingrays and fed the manatee in Puerto Adventura, about 40 minutes south. Fun was had by all. We also used the windsurf boards and sailed on the catamaran’s offered on the beach at our resort (these are included!)

The beach is great and the waves are big. Bring a boogie board if you can, buying one at the resort is a bit expensive.

My favorite restaurants are the Steak House and Japanese. I loved the appetizers at the Seafood restaurant, but I felt that the entrees were surprisingly average.

There are currently some great deals at the Iberostar resorts. They are even offering a special of the 6th room free. That would be a great deal for a few families traveling together!
